Little son asked his father who was a war vet: "Daddy, how do you spell the word 'barrel'-with one or double 'r'?"
Father explained with a great deal of confidence: "It depends on the design of the weapon - if it is with one barrel then we have one 'r', and, the other way round, if it's got two barrels then we spell the word with double 'r'."
